Flyers offer Richards 12-year deal

If there was any question whether the Flyers saw a future captaincy in center Mike Richards, it was addressed today in flattering terms.
The Flyers have offered him a 12-year deal with an annual cap hit of $5.7 million. The contract is worth at least $68.4 million. Final details have not been worked out and approval of the NHL is pending, league sources said.

tsn is reporting it like it’s a done deal. if this is true, i’m totally fuckin’ pumped. with the salary cap rising every year, 5.75mil is a steal. it just shows that richards wants cups over money. i think with the cap room this will prove to save in the future, there’s a good chance we’ll have a parade or two on broad street in the next decade.

parade???? you talking about a parade???? not a game, but a parade????
That’s Mike Richards, not Brad Richards. No parade there.
