Flyers Romp On Pens

Flyers full of glad hatters

When the emotion died down and most of the media had left the locker room, Joffrey Lupul was pulling off the last of his sweaty equipment and thinking about what all this really meant.
He had a hat trick, R.J. Umberger had a hat trick, the Flyers had pummeled the Pittsburgh Penguins, 8-2, last night in the Wachovia Center. It was a fight-filled, nasty contest in which the Penguins had a third-period discipline meltdown and the Flyers continued to exact some revenge for the eight-game beating Pittsburgh handed them last season.

Who the fuck was the Versus announcer saying that Ben Eager’s hit was an elbow? That was a totally clean hit!
Also, I found this little gem in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:
And when Therrien’s postgame session with reporters ended, Flyers knuckle-dragger Ben Eager (0 points, 60 penalty minutes), whom Therrien passed in a corridor outside the Penguins’ locker room, said to him, “You’re a joke.”
Therrien offered a two-word comeback, only the second half of which — “you” — is suitable for public consumption.

I yelled for Umberger to get off the ice in the first period. He must have heard me.

  3. KevMac says:

I think the announcer who was bitching that it was an elbow was Ed Olczyk. Didn’t he used to coach the Penguins?

  4. pour house vet says:

  6. shitty coach says:

  7. Eager says:

I turtle after taking cheap shots.
