Flyers Bring Back Vandermeer

Flyers trade Eager to Chicago

The Flyers traded forward Ben Eager, a healthy scratch in four of the last seven games, to the Chicago Blackhawks tonight for a familiar face: defenseman Jim Vandermeer.
The trade was announced after the 3-2 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes. Vandermeer, dealt from the Flyers to the Windy City for Alexei Zhamnov in February 2004, brings some snarl and experience to the team’s blue liners.

Why do the Flyers always, always, always do this??? Next they will sign Kevin Haller and Kjell Samuelson, and hopefully Chris Gratton.

Be careful Carter…you are leaning dangerously close to sounding like Bobble Head Joe

I like Jim Vandermeer. He’s an improvement on Rory Fitzpatrick.
    And the stats are updated.

  5. RR says:

I still like Fitzpatrick over Picard, and Art over Fitzpatrick, and Jenkins with a hard hat playing a rusty trombone.

  6. Flamer Jenks says:

I play a damn good rusty t-bone….especially if I get a chance to lube up my lips with some strawberry Smuckers®!

  7. RR says:

Is that “tossing a rusty trombone salad”? Aunt Jamima works well too.

  8. bobblehead joe says:

hey, wait. wasn’t fitzpatrick almost an allstar last year? oh that’s right, vancouver fans were voting for him because he sucks and they wanted to make a point that the allstar balloting system is lame.
i agree with thor. vandermeer is definitely an improvement on turnover fitz. now if you’ll excuse me, i’m gonna go make out with my poster of mike richards.
