    It could have been worse, we could have signed Gomez and Rafalski to those rediculous contracts and been a second round playoff team forever.
    The fact that Joe Thornton signed for less than Gomez shows you how bad that contract is.
    Rafalski came as a shock, but the Devils need to get bigger. Also, he’s like 33 or 34, so I don’t think 5 years was a wise contract for an undersized defender with a weak shot.
    I’m hoping the Devils can get Zubrus once prices have settled down.
