Goaltender Marty Turco has rebounded from a disappointing 2006 playoff for the Dallas Stars to capture the first star in the NHL’s revamped weekly player awards.
The league has chosen to award three stars this season instead of doling out offensive and defensive honours.
Chicago Blackhawks winger Martin Havlat and Toronto Maple Leafs captain Mats Sundin were named the second and third stars, respectively.
