Pens’ Malone leads USA past Czechs at worlds
The Pittsburgh Penguins’ Ryan Malone scored a goal and set up another in an impressive United States victory over the Czech Republic that closed out second round play at the ice hockey world championship on Tuesday.
The 3-1 victory gives Canada the top spot in Group E. In the quarterfinals Russia will meet the Czech Republic, the defending champions, while Sweden will face off against the United States and Finland takes on Belarus.
