The Blues honoured the native of Inverness, N.S., before their game against the Edmonton Oilers in a special ceremony that included tributes from current and former St. Louis players and video testimonials from the likes of Wayne Gretzky and Steve Yzerman.
MacInnis, 42, retired on Sept. 9, 2005, with 340 career goals – the third highest total by a defenceman.
Eye and shoulder injuries, along with the inactivity caused by the NHL lockout, forced MacInnis to walk away from the game.
