Staal, Huet win NHL weekly awards
Staal, a 21-year-old sniper from Thunder Bay, Ont., recorded seven points in three games last week for Carolina, earning the offensive player of the week honour.
Huet picked up the defensive award after guiding Montreal to three straight victories with a 1.67 goals-against average and .943 save percentage last week.
Tie Domi couldn’t completely relish the moment.
Not when his buddy, Eric Lindros, was suffering so much.
“I just talked to Eric and he’s pretty choked up,” Domi said after the Leafs’ 4-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators. “We’ll have to see what happens.”
Lindros reinjured his wrist during the game and is slated to undergo season-ending — and maybe even career-ending — surgery later this week.
Earlier in the evening, Domi was honoured for playing in his 1,000th game, a milestone the Leafs tough guy reached Friday night in Buffalo.
Am I the only one voting for Robert Esche in the poll question? I vote for him every day yet he can’t seem to catch Frank.

Nice!!!
Esche sucks. Shitty I’ll butterfly and pray goalie.
Praying that the shooter don’t push him and the puck into the net?
A total hockey bob move.
