Rams Let Leads Slip – Settle for Tie

The Rams are going to have to find a way to hold on to leads if they want to make noise down the stretch of the Wintersport Cup Men’s League. The Rams were unable to hold onto three separate 2 goal leads.
The Rams offense was lead by the tandem of Denny and Shoup that as Penguins forward Jon B. remarked “really gave them a new dimension” who got things going for the Rams. Shoup took a pass on the left wing from Denny and was able to squirt one through Wang. Denny then scored his first ever against Wanger and would have had a second if it weren’t for a great glove save right off a faceoff.
The familiar line of Andre, Jones and Carmen got the Pens back even before the Rams took back the momentum and their two goal lead, only to watch it evaporate late in the game.
The Rams extended the lead back to two as Chris scored on a nifty move and proved the sun, waves and women of Costa Rica agreed with him. The Rams second two goal lead lasted a couple shifts longer than the first but Phil’s change up in the third pulled the Penguins back within one. A deflection of Snappy’s point shot put the Rams up two for the third time. But then the Penguins came storming back with Carmen and Kevin scoring in the last five minutes to tie the score at five.
The Rams have played well in their last two and if they continue on that pace according to goaltender Kevin, “the way we are playing we will finally beat the Bandits on Wednesday.”
