Petr Sykora’s days in Anaheim may be numbered.
The Mighty Ducks held Sykora out of Thursday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres because they were trying to trade the struggling winger.
The Los Angeles Times reports that the Boston Bruins had interest in Sykora after dealing Joe Thornton to the San Jose Sharks but a deal has yet to be worked out.
When asked whether he expects to be picked for the US Olympic team, Kings centre Jeremy Roenick held nothing back. “I better be,” Roenick told the L.A. Times. “It would be a travesty if I’m not.”
Roenick added he understands they want a youth movement, but was also clear about what may result should there be any “disrespect” of veterans such as he: “they better hope that I don’t get a job as a commentator on NBC for [the Games], or it’d be ‘Go Canada’ all the way, and I don’t want that.”
